During cold weather operations we have been the reliable source of combustion heaters for over fifty years. The newest aircraft heater now available from Hartzell is the I-Series cabin heater. Adapted from its US military proven S-Series heaters, the I-Series heaters contain a new combustion tube made from Inconel ®. This material provides substantially improved performance over ceramic coated stainless steel in extreme temperature applications.
New I-Series heaters directly replace Hartzell & Janitrol branded B-Series heaters & are exempt from the AD applicable to the
B-Series.

Extreme Combustion Flame Testing:
Displays I-Series tube has vastly improved protection & considered best for dependable heat.
Camera was oriented such that it was looking down the combustion tube from the end cap position towards the igniter and fuel nozzle. The igniter arc was a reference point for the center of the combustion chamber. Flame tests exposed the I-Series heater tube to cyclical 1800 and 2000ºF.
Each heater system consists of a heater assembly, a ventilating air blower, a combustion air blower, nozzle holder, solenoid valve assembly, new spark plug, high voltage ignition system, combustion air pressure switch, overheat switch, cycling switch, and necessary radio noise suppressors. Optional equipment includes a duct switch, fuel pump, fuel regulator and shutoff valve, combustion air blower inlet adapter and a fanning strip (connectors). All components except the combustion air blower, duct switch, fuel regulator and shutoff valve and fuel pump are combined into one assembly to facilitate installation and service operations. The optional equipment items are provided as separate components since they maybe mounted at different locations in the aircraft.

Aircraft Heater Fuel Regulators
Our regulators are designed to control the flow of fuel to an aircraft heater. They are available in both 12V and 24V with a fuel PSIG ranging from 1.0 to 12.0.
Aircraft Heater Ignition Units
Our ignition units convert 28VDC to high voltage oscillating current capable of producing a continuous spark at the spark gap in the heater combustion chamber. Ignition units are equipped with radio noise filtration, condensors, vibrator sockets, vibrators, and ignition coils.
Helicopter Heaters & Replacement Components
Hartzell Engine Technologies is a proud supplier of Helicopter Heaters to the U.S. Government and to those who provide support to our military. Our S-series heaters have rated outputs ranging from 100,000 BTU to 600,000 BTU and feature an inconel combustion tube.
Fuel Control Can Assembly
Our sealed fuel control can assemblies provide a leakproof chamber for the fuel pump and motor as well as other controls. This unit produces fuel pressure, filtration, flow control, and fuel pressure regulation.
